Precautions for stone-patterned aluminum single panel curtain walls
Stone-patterned aluminum panels combine the strength of metal sheets with the appearance of natural stone. They are lightweight and resistant to cracking, and are widely used in exterior wall decoration. There are many key points to pay attention to during the design and construction stages.
First is the structural design of the curtain wall system. Although its appearance mimics stone, stone-patterned aluminum panels are metal sheets, and their thermal expansion and contraction deformation differ from natural stone. The joint width should be reserved according to the characteristics of the metal material; it should not blindly follow the joint width design of stone curtain walls, to prevent deformation caused by compression due to temperature changes.
Next is the layout of the panel surface texture. The stone grain effect is achieved through heat transfer printing, with each panel naturally having different textures. Before processing, the textures are numbered properly, produced according to the numbering sequence, and installed on site to ensure a natural transition in the overall wall texture, avoiding clutter that affects the overall appearance.
The processing stage protects the surface transfer film layer. The surface texture layer of stone-patterned aluminum panels is more susceptible to hard objects than fluorocarbon spraying, so protection is needed during grooving, bending, and assembly. Finished boards should be coated with protective film and transported and stacked to prevent friction and bumps.
During installation, the corner brackets and hangers are firmly installed, and the panels are leveled and in place. Before applying the sealant, clean the board joints and use weather-resistant sealant to ensure the joints are continuous and full, preventing rainwater from seeping in. The sealant should be compatible with the board coating to prevent the adhesive from corroding the surface texture layer and causing discoloration.
For later maintenance, do not use hard steel wool or highly corrosive cleaners to clean the wall; instead, wipe with clean water and a soft cloth. By paying attention to these details, the stone-patterned aluminum veneer curtain wall can maintain its stone texture for a long time and maintain stable use.
